Nacheyla duRosten Nacheyla

Name: Nacheyla duRosten
Birthday: Marpenoth 9, 1100
Age: 300 Race: Human(?)
Class: Undead Hunter/Sorceress

General Information: Nacheyla duRosten is a human (?) with long black hair, streaked with silver-gray. As a result of some magic gone wild, she has limited shape-changing abilities and appears in one of four different forms, an woman in her mid-forties with grey-streaked hair, a young woman about nineteen with calf-length black hair, an eleven year old girl with pigtails, and a brantha demoness with silver horns, crimson eyes, and a very expressive spaded tail. In her non-demon forms she has hazel eyes that frequently appear to be copperish in color. Under her left eye is a small tattoo in the shape of a sun with many rays, the inking in done in red. She frequently wears a gold headband to keep her long hair out of her eyes. This band has small sun symbols engraved across it.

Usually, she is clad in dark colors, blacks, midnight blues, or deep greens. She always wears a black cloak with gold embroidered suns on the collar. Around her neck, she wears a large gold amulet, also sun-shaped. On her left hand, she wears a silver and ruby ring, and on her right hand, she wears three plain gold bands. Most unusually, she has several gems that orbit her head - a small black rectangle, a deep red sphere, a clear prism, and a yellow star.

Nacheyla carries a sword hilt stuffed into her belt, but there is no blade attached to the hilt. She also carries a silver dagger. She has a small shield, painted with a sun symbol. Other than that, she wears no armor.

Her personality varies with her appearance. The nineteen year old form and the demoness are both shamelessly flirty, the eleven year old girl is enthusiastic and interested in practical jokes, playing, and hanging around with her "older" friends and the older woman is quiet, reserved, and even-tempered. In all forms, she is dedicated to the extermination of the undead and fanatically loyal to her family in Khymrych.

She spends most of her time in her girl-form, enjoying her second childhood to the fullest. In her demoness form, she has become involved with the demon Xarroch.

History - Nacheyla's family, except for a younger sister, was killed by a vampire when Nacheyla was only seven, her sister Thomlia, was only four. Her parents, coming back as the undead, slew her brothers and sisters, until only she and her sister Thomlia were left alive. The two girls were taken in by Duriel Kalorn, a powerful mage. The vampire continued to stalk the village for several years until an undead hunter, Greyson, came through town and disposed of the creature. Nacheyla was almost fourteen at the time, and pled with Greyson to teach her the ways of the undead hunter. Greyson, impressed by the girl, who had already tapped into her innate sorceress abilities, took her on as his apprentice.

They traveled together for several years, until a lich slew her master. Managing to escape, Nacheyla managed to avenge her master and struck out on her own. It was in the lich's lair that she found most of the items she carries today. Finding the ioun stones to be interesting and useful, she had Duriel craft her an original item, which stole the magical energy of the undead and turned it into life energy for the living. The wealth of the lich's lair paid for the item, however, the mage died during the creation of it. Nacheyla is not sure why. The clerics nearby were unable to resurrect him.

(In truth, Duriel was close to death anyway, and desired to find a way to keep on living. Nacheyla intrigued him, and he deposited his soul within the ion stone. For a long time, Nacheyla did not know he was there, and only recently discovered his presence and a method of communication.)

In her 300 years, Nacheyla has been married seven times and gave birth to 37 children. In order to protect her children and their children, she brought all her relatives to a small village and left them in the care of her sister or other children. Over the years, Nacheyla's family has grown to impressive numbers. The village of Khymrych is inhabited by over 800 people, 503 of which claim a direct descendant relationship with her. Protecting her family is her secondary goal, second only to her vow to destroy the undead. Her abilities and seeming immortality have resulted in her relations near-worship of her. To them, she is the Blessed Mother.

She has come to Marsember because of the rumors about multiple vampiric sightings. While scouting in Marsember, she heard rumors about the MeadeHall and the strange events that went on there. Convinced that the already unusual nature of the MeadeHall would be a perfect disguise for undead trying to find her (since anything unusual that happened to or around her would be dismissed as "typical MeadeHall events"), she applied for a job as bartender.

More recently, as a result of a wild surge, she took on the form of a brantha demoness. In attempting to conceal her demonic appearance, she learned a limited shape-change and can now appear as any age she has ever been, as well as the demoness form. She has taken to wandering around in the form of an eleven year old girl, greatly enjoying her second childhood, as she attempts to not think about her current relationship with the demon Xarrach.
